Recovery is about more than getting through a difficult season. It's about having the support, resources, and stability to take the next step forward.
For people navigating substance use and recovery, access to everyday essentials can be one more important piece of that journey.
That's where Iron Tribe Network comes in.
Based in Oregon, Iron Tribe Network is a peer-run organization supporting individuals and families affected by substance use. Through recovery housing, peer support, family reunification, and community resources, they help people find connection and support as they work toward rebuilding their lives.
Meeting People Where They Are
Everyone's recovery journey looks different.
Some people are transitioning out of treatment. Others may be navigating homelessness, incarceration, or the challenges of reconnecting with family.
Iron Tribe Network understands that people need more than encouragement. They need practical resources and a community that meets them where they are.
By offering recovery housing, peer support, and connections to additional resources, the organization helps individuals work toward greater stability while supporting families along the way.
Each year, Iron Tribe Network serves approximately 1,500 people.
Why Everyday Essentials Matter
When someone is working to rebuild their life, having access to basic necessities shouldn't be another obstacle.
Underwear is one of those essentials that's easy to overlook until you don't have it. Having clean, properly fitting undergarments can make a meaningful difference in someone's comfort and confidence, especially during an already vulnerable transition.
As Meli Rose, Deputy Director of Iron Tribe Network, shared:
"It helps restore dignity and confidence during a vulnerable transition."
For Iron Tribe Network, underwear is an ongoing need. The organization estimates needing approximately 500 pieces of underwear and bras each year to support the people they serve.
Their greatest need is men's boxer briefs in sizes large through 3XL, with XL and 2XL being especially important.
Without donated supplies, the organization would spend approximately $2,900 annually purchasing these essentials.
How The Undie Chest Helps
Through The Undie Chest, donated undergarments are distributed to nonprofit partners like Iron Tribe Network, helping organizations provide essential items to the people they serve.
For a peer-run organization supporting people through recovery, having access to these supplies means being able to address another everyday need without having to stretch an already limited budget.
And because Iron Tribe Network works directly with individuals navigating different stages of recovery, these items can go where they're needed most.
It's one more way The Undie Chest helps nonprofit organizations focus their resources on the people and programs that matter.
A Fresh Start Includes the Basics
Recovery isn't a one-size-fits-all journey. It takes time, support, and access to resources that help people move forward.
Sometimes, those resources look like a safe place to stay or someone who understands what you're going through. Other times, they look like something as simple as a clean pair of underwear that fits.
We're proud to support organizations like Iron Tribe Network that are doing the hands-on work of helping people rebuild, reconnect, and find their footing.
Because everyone deserves to feel comfortable, cared for, and supported as they take their next step.
